    Mama's Peach Crisp

    Equipment

    • 1 shallow 1-quart baking dish coated with vegetable cooking spray
    • 1 small bowl

    Ingredients

    • ½ tsp. orange zest freshly grated
    • 2 tbsp. orange juice
    • 1½ tbsp. sugar
    • 1 tsp. corn starch
    • 4 cups peaches fresh, peeled and sliced
    • ½ cup light brown sugar firmly packed
    • ½ cup all-purpose flour
    • ⅓ cup rolled oats
    • ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
    • ¼ tsp. salt
    • 4 tbsp. butter cold, unsalted, and cut into bits

    Instructions

    • Preheat the over to 375℉.
    • In a small bowl, combine the zest, orange juice, sugar, and cornstarch; mix well.
    • Mix in the peaches and coat them.
    • Spoon the mixture into a the baking dish.
    • In a small bow, combine the remaining ingredients, mixing until the mixture resumes coarse meal.
    • Sprinkle the topping evenly over the peach mixture.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the peaches are bubbling around the edges of the dish and the top is golden. Cool slightly before serving.
